As an Activity Manager, you’ll refine your skills, inspire your team, and help shape the

The
Role: As an
Activity Manager, your mission is to turn learning into an adventure,
transforming classroom knowledge into real-world experiences. You'll design a
dynamic calendar of activities and excursions that inspire curiosity and ignite
a sense of wonder in our students. Leading and mentoring a team of Activity
Leaders, instilling in them your passion for engaging and motivating young
learners. You’ll work closely with local suppliers, partners, and venues to
ensure each excursion is well-planned and delivery is of a high standard.
This role is subject to seasonal fixed term employment during the summer 2025. This role is Residential.
Responsibilities
Activity Planning: Develop and execute a diverse range of activities and excursions that align with the curriculum and cater to the needs and interests of our students.
Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of Activity Leaders, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the successful implementation of activities.
Student Engagement: Promote active student participation and engagement in activities and excursions, fostering a sense of enthusiasm and cultural exploration.
Health and Safety: Implement and enforce health and safety protocols, conducting risk assessments and ensuring the well-being of students during all activities and excursions.
Resource Management: Manage activity budgets, procure necessary resources, and incident reports and maintain activity-related equipment and materials.
Evaluation and Feedback: Collect feedback from students and staff to continuously improve and refine the activity program, making data-driven decisions.
Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive relationships with local suppliers, venues, and partners to enhance the quality of excursions and activities.
Schedule Coordination: Coordinate activity schedules, ensuring that they complement the academic program and daily operations of the centre.
Crisis Management: Be prepared to handle emergencies, providing leadership and support during unexpected situations.
Safeguarding: Generate and encourage incident reports, Report serious incidents to the DSL, and Act in accordance with the CLAN Safeguarding Policy.
Must Have
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proven experience in program or event management, with a focus on youth or education programs.
Excellent organisational skills to plan and manage activity schedules, logistics, and resources effectively.
Knowledge of safeguarding and welfare regulations.
Crisis management and problem-solving skills.
Use their own initiative to be proactive without instruction.
A determined individual that takes pride in their work and has a drive to grow.
Several years of experience working as an Activity Leader, Senior Activity Leader or in a related role in the field of education, youth development, or similar.
Desirable
A Sports/Events Management/ Psychology/Leadership/ History/ Teaching-related degree is a huge plus.
Experience as an activity manager at a summer language school.
Additional languages.
First aid certificate.
Knowledge of Edinburgh and Scotland.
